Watch & Learn.

The skateboarders were very friendly and cooperative (I asked them if they could do a few tricks on this side when Nadine was posing) and I got really nice shots of them in the action :) But what I regretted is that I didn't really feel like I've thanked them enough... :( maybe next time I'll buy some drinks for them as a 'thank you' token :)

It's All In Your Mind.

Nadine. My car headlights. The police came and intervened our photoshoot.again. Seriously annoying when they began to question you stupid stuff. And even more stupid when they try to hit you up. I had to shoo them away because I was afraid my batteries would die. This is our first location for the night, which is the parking lot in Likas Complex. Our second photoshoot was in Likas Rock Climbing Arena & Skateboard Park.

The Lying Down Game. And Me Playing It.

The Lying Down Game. Not many knows about it. A few people heard about it. And very little people plays it. Its probably because this game requires extreme amount of courage, balls and humour as well as creativity to produce satisfactory photos whether it looks funny, dangerous or cool. Anyway, the aim of this game is to let you run free with your imagination in order to deliver a photo that displays the unexpected humour that can  exists in the mundane and conventional places. The only rule is that you must lay down, face flat. Yes, that is the one rule you must obey.

I enjoyed my own Lying Down Game session with my friend Ella as the photographer yesterday when we were hanging out around Alamesra and Kota Kinabalu. At first she didn't really see the point but after she saw the outcome of the photos...her mind was changed. And she now wants to take pictures of me playing it more :) . Let me show you our (yes, Ella and I) first three photos.

This is the website if you want to know more : http://www.lyingdowngame.net/

This is when we were waiting for my car to be repaired (the radio had wiring problems). That's me....lying down praying that my car (yes, the little grey Kelisa) would not run me down. Scary I know...but It was worth it (And I have full trust on my car's handbrake lol)

This is me...parking...err.. me. We had to find a parking space that those men couldn't see. (see those guys on the right?) Didn't really like it when they stared at us in the first place..so we had to relocate. Guess I'm not that brave enough to do the shoot heheh.
This is me...with the elevator. My friend was in the elevator when we shoot this so I didn't worry about my head getting squashed by the door. The first take we tried to do, someone saw us. and of course...we turned red as boiling lobsters. this is the second shot. (its a good thing the passer-by couldn't see my face. See? The lying down game wouldn't leave you feeling embarassed 100%.) lol

In the end, I looked at the photos with an odd and a bit embarassing amount of pride and satisfaction and I can't wait to play this game again.

My butt is huge. O____O  lol

MyVi Driven.

My cousin's keychain. was sitting at the kitchen table with everyone. Of course, the family wouldn't waste a second on teasing me how much pictures I took even when I'm sitting down to eat. (see any kfc? ;) )

The Tiniest Revelation.

Mr.Escargot takes the limelight! (again)

Childhood memories.

This is my grandmother's kitchen. When I was young we would frequently have a kenduri (gathering) amongst the villagers in Beaufort (Kampung Klias Baru) either for a certain Islamic celebration (like Eid) or for the passing of a fellow villager or just to have a gathering for the sake of sillatulrahim . everyone in the family would gather at grandma's...the aunts and moms will prepare the food...the men and boys will be at the front...the kids will either be helping out in the kitchen , at the front playing before the feast is laid out to the guests and family, or at the front porch playing with each other...or all of the above in a non-sequential arrangement lol. I loved the atmosphere...everybody talking to each other, telling jokes and stories, keeping updates with everyone's lives...the lively scene and yet in such a simple, humble and traditional manner...enjoying the scent of the food cooking and cooking it together...and then at last silently listening to prayers and Quran recitals by the Imam invited along with the lovely Zikir everyone will chant along to :) It brings such sweet nostalgic and longing feeling...how we will all gather together for our faith, our God and our ummah....but things have changed...time changes everything...lets just say I don't want to bring up what we're all going through now...we all still see each other but the bond we have now is not as strong as we had before.

I would give anything to turn back time.

There is Nothing We Can Do..

But pray. This unfortunate accident happen during my family outing to Kundasang/Ranau. We were going from one resort to another trying to survey the hostels and chalets when we saw a house in a nearby village are burning down to the ground..I called 999 and it seems like I wasn't the only one who called...the most terrifying memory I had was when the fires grew bigger and huge puffs of smoke ascends into the air like and the shoutings from the villagers...especially from one women  that was so loud we could literally feel her suffering..I don't know whether there was any deaths but I pray to God that there isn't. This is a picture of a on-looker holding  his daughter protectively as they watched the turmoil took its toll.

And as we all know...Japan was just recently struck by an 8.9 scale earthquake with a tsunami blow...Let us all pray for the safety of everyone in Japan as well as the other countries (including my own) that is in high risk. Ameen.

Please be careful and may God be with all of us.

You Got Served..

By Marge Simpson. Got her from buying a Burger King meal when I was small. She still serves a good purpose for me lol.

Under The Eye of Time.

Kota Kinabalu. Still attached to its past, both beautiful and the ugly. It's not perfect, but its home. Taken before going to Kundasang/Ranau for our family outing.

Ghost of Our Past.

Cheryl. At Kota Kinabalu Railway Station. This is the part (in the photo) where we got 'arrested' by the railway station caretaker. Got away though. hehehe.

Trails of A Snail.

Snails always comes on the house porch during raining season. I took this just as I get out of  the car from work. Met Mr.Escargot here (No worries, I have no interest in eating snails.) and decided to take some photos of em. Used my mobile phone's torchlight to get the lighting effect. :)

I get nauseous thinking about eating a snail. Uurgghh.

Vertical Horizon.

Francis, Jeremiah, Joanna and Cheryl. At Kota Kinabalu Train Station.

Conscious.

My Cat. He's a Snow Shoe breed of cat. (I think.) He has the tiniest voice of any kitten could every have and I adore him to bits. He's white, fat, fluffy and in the beginning he would always hiss and would run away even when I'm 2 metres away from him. But after numerous attempts to touch him and stroke him and 'domesticate' him...He gave in and now loves to be hold :) His name is pu pu tee tee. (putih putih (it means White) as you would recognize.) but I like calling him 'poo poo tee tee' more because I'd do the cooing and he'll come running and mewing to me (in a very high pitched manner lol). He was trying to sleep when I crept in and tried to shot him in his slumber. He has a high alert radar. too high maybe lol.

Mighty.

Notice how she bit her lip as she jumps? Yeah. It was that hard. She had muscle cramps after the photoshoot. lol

Death Of Beauty.

This is what we see coming on the sea shore everyday, and its because of what the people in the islands throw. But instead of taking action on the wrong-doers in the island, they hire people to clean the same thrash everyday on the same spot. Its upsetting and its disappointing.
